Intro to Medical Massage -
 
Get started with the in-demand specialty of medical massage. This anatomy driven class covers the basic principles and science behind medical massage as well as assessments and treatments. Learn techniques that can be used to address a number of conditions that ease your client’s pain and that get results. It is recommended that students take Intro to Medical Massage first as basic principles and techniques will be taught that will then be applied to specific conditions in sequential classes.

Medical Massage for the Upper Body

 

Learn to access and address several upper body pathologies and conditions in this hands-on class including migraines, whiplash, frozen shoulder and more. Techniques will be taught for effective and long-lasting results.

Medical Massage for Low Back Pain
 

Learn how to assess and address the most common of back pathologies - low back pain. This anatomy-driven class will cover how to detect and correct underlying causes and prevent chronic conditions from forming. Learn integrated 

approaches and strategies that best help your clients in this hands-on class.

Medical Massage for Special Populations - Geriatrics

 

Learn the special considerations in medical massage for various life stages and conditions. Techniques, adaptations and unique concerns will be covered for the elderly. Emphasis will be placed on palliative care and massage for vulnerable populations. A variety of conditions will be covered including Alzheimer’s & Dementia,  Parkinsons, Stroke and more. This class is primarily lecture. 

Massage for Chronic Pain

Learn how to address chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia and migraines. In this class, you will learn specific strategies for helping your client and gain a more in-depth understanding of what chronic pain is and how it differs from acute pain. You will also learn integrated approaches to help your client break the pain cycle as well as how to prevent acute injuries from becoming chronic.

Massage for Chronic Pain Conditions

Covers the 4 main types of chronic pain - low back pain, migraines, joint & nerve pain. Explore various types of chronic pain pathologies including arthritis, neuropathy and more. Learn techniques aimed at improving quality of life and relieving pain.

Massage for Sports Injuries 1 - Upper Body 

 

Learn effective techniques for addressing the most common types of sports injuries with an emphasis on the upper body. Injuries such as tennis elbow, golfers elbow, strains, rotator cuff injuries, herniations, and more will be covered. Please dress comfortably in clothes that you can move in and bring a set of sheets.

Massage for Sports Injuries 2 - Lower Body 

 

Learn how to treat common sports injuries of the lower body in this hands-on class. Injuries such as runner’s knee, ACL injury, shin splints, plantar fasciitis, and more will be addressed. Prevention and self-care will also be covered. Please dress comfortably in clothes that you can move in and bring a set of sheets.

*^Class Cancellation and Refund Policy

Classes must be paid for at time of registration to hold place in class.

If a student withdrawals from class 2 weeks prior to class date, they will receive a 100% refund. If withdrawal occurs 1 week prior, they will receive credit for another class. Students will not receive a refund if withdrawal occurs less than a week prior or if they do not show up. If class is cancelled due to lack of sufficient enrollment a full refund will be given.
