About Pura Vida Retreat & Spa:

Pura Vida Retreat & Spa is on a lush 8-acre mountainside tucked in the clouds at 5000 feet above sea-level in Costa Rica’s Alajuela province.  Pura Vida’s climate is spring-like year round with temperatures between  70° to 80° F during the day and mild nights in the 60’s. Costa Rica is known for it’s stunning environmental beauty, healthy delicious food, volcanic mountains that are a source of powerful natural healing and of course, coffee plantations. There is a mountainside hot tub, outdoor pool, smoothie bar and gift shop as well as a Wellness Center with Ayurveda, massage, skin care, Watsu, reflexology and more!

• 6 day/5 night retreat accommodations

• Round-trip airport shuttle transfer to Pura Vida Spa from SJO International airport.

Pura Vida Retreat & Spa offers a variety of enchanting accommodations scattered across meticulously landscaped grounds, each designed to delight with views of lush gardens and majestic mountains.

Please note that there are limited amount of accommodations available in each category.

Register early to ensure your first choice. Double accommodation prices noted below are per person.

Reservations require a $500 deposit. If payment is not made in full then the following applies:  50% minus deposit will be due April 1st. Final payment (50%) will be due May 1st.

^Note payments are non refundable due to Pura Vida's policy. Exceptions will be made on a case by case basis. Airfare is not included. It is highly recommended that you purchase refundable tickets with insurance.

Can I room with a friend? Will you match me

with a roommate if I register for double accommodations?

Yes, please let us know who you would like to share a room with when you register.  If you would like double accommodations and are coming alone, we will be happy to match you with someone on a space availability basis.  Pura Vida’s policy is that if you are registered for double accommodations and we are not able to match you with a roommate, you will be charged the single accommodations rate. Please register early to ensure a match!

Can I bring someone who is not attending the retreat?

The non-attendee “companion” rate is for someone who is sharing a room with you but not taking classes.

Companions enjoy all the same resort features including meals and accomodations.

Are spa services available?

The Pura Vida Wellness Center offers a wide selection of services at additional costs including Ayurveda, Swedish massage, aromatherapy, scrubs, stone therapy, skin care, reflexology, Watsu, & more. All sessions must be scheduled on-site. Prices range from $115-270. ^All inclusive option includes a $115 credit for the spa.

How do I get to Pura Vida Retreat & Spa?

Pura Vida is located only 20 minutes from the SJO International airport in Costa Rica and 45 minutes from downtown San Jose. Shuttle transfer to and from SJO International airport is included in your group package. The Pura Vida driver will meet you outside the exit door at International baggage claim with a sign that reads, “Pura Vida Retreat & Spa” and your last name.  Most major airlines fly to SJO. Please note that you must have a valid passport to fly to Costa Rica and it cannot expire within 6 months of your return date. **Airfare is not included in the retreat cost.

Can I add on days if I want to extend my stay?

Yes!  To add additional days AFTER you have registered with us, please be in touch with Pura Vida directly by calling 1-888-767-7375. As a group participant, you receive a 10% discount off of the nightly rates. Rates include accommodations and 3 meals daily.

Will there be time in the schedule for other excursions or extra spa services?

Yes! We have deliberately created a schedule that allows ample time to rest or to enjoy other excursions or services. All tours and wellness services are scheduled once you arrive at Pura Vida.

​

Is there electricity?

All accommodations at Pura Vida have wifi and electricity (including Garden View Tents). Outlets are the same as the US.

​

What should I bring?

You will receive a welcome email from the facilitators before the retreat with a list of recommended items to bring.
